HYPNOSIS AND ITS BEGINNINGS

HYPNOSIS AND ITS BEGINNINGS
Hypnotic or suggestive therapy is the oldest of all healing techniques. From the sleep temples of Egypt through the histories of ancient Greece and Rome some form of hypnosis has always been an intimate part of all cultures.

In the early part of the 20th Century hypnosis was used almost exclusively by stage hypnotists, thereby projecting a hopelessly distorted view of this very powerful therapeutic tool. However, in 1955 the British Medical Association endorsed the practice of hypnosis in Medical School Education, since when it has become a valuable addition to conventional medical treatment.

The actual experience of being hypnotised is very difficult to describe, neither asleep nor awake. All hypnotic states are characterised by a tremendously pleasant state of relaxation, an altered state of consciousness into which individuals allow themselves to enter so that desired, beneficial suggestions may be given directly to the unconscious mind. Thus, Hypnosis is a natural, effective way of making contact with the inner (unconscious) self, as well as a tremendous reservoir of unrecognised potential strength and knowledge, ie the forgotten assets.

Nobody can be hypnotised against their will, and even when hypnotised, people can still reject any of the suggestions given if they are not appropriate.

Modern Hypnotherapists use Hypnosis not only for medical problems but also as an aid for the resolution of many problems of psychological origins.

It is estimated that approximately 85% of people of all age groups will readily respond to clinical Hypnotherapy. It is often successful when other, more conventional methods of treatment have failed.

Hypnotherapy is completely natural and safe and there are no harmful side effects. When administered by a professionally trained and skilled Hypnotherapist the benefits are long lasting and often permanent.

Listed here are some of the conditions for which Hypnotherapy is indicated as a practical treatment.

Past Life Regression
I would advise anyone to experience past lives, as these lives can sometimes explain why we have experienced things in this life. Why we have had compulsions to go and visit somewhere or do something and yet we cannot understand why. In past lives we can indentify someone we know in this life and help us to understand why it is that they are in our life at this particular time. Very often it is because there is unfinished business to be completed between them.

I teach people how to hypnotise themselves; I recommend it for stress, both within our private life and the work place. It is such a comfortable and relaxed state to be in where we can ‘Just Be’. We can whilst in this state give ourselves positive suggestions maybe about something that is bothering us or we may merely want to improve our confidence.

For the past four/five years now I have been helping clients to remove all of their negative energies, which accumulate within the body. Sometimes these negative energies have settled within the chakras, which if not dealt with can cause dis-ease, which later on can become disease. I call this ‘baggage’ and clients can always identify what it is that I mean. When all of this baggage has been removed they feel as if a weight has been lifted off their shoulders. They can then progress within their own life and journey free of anything that would hold them back from pursuing their life’s purpose. I have a high success rate with Hypnotherapy and would recommend anyone to experience the relaxation that comes from this.

Children can be helped by Hypnotherapy. I use this method with them. Very often these children are ‘Indigo’ children, which to be in a relaxed state is quite easy for them. If they find themselves in a situation that they are not happy with, ‘Indigo’ children can put themselves without knowing into this altered state of consciousness themselves. With my help they can then sort out whatever their particular problem may be.

Sometimes when the client arrives to see me they can be quite nervous, when we have talked for a little while their fears have usually gone and they relax into this altered state very easily. We then deal with their issues and they come back feeling renewed, refreshed and feeling that a weight has been lifted off their shoulders. It is not always a ‘one-off’ session, it depends on how fast or slow the client works whilst in this relaxed state and of course how many issues we have to deal with.

  • Smoking cessation is a one-off session.
  • Phobias are very often a one-off session
  • Psoriasis, eczema is a two session programme
  • Baggage is very often more than one or sometimes two sessions depending how much the client has to deal with.
  • Weight loss is a four session programme
  • Confidence is a four-six session programme
